I LOVE FASHION

Para entender la moda hay que sacarnos de la mente que es frívola o plástica. Hay que dejar de sentirse incomodo cerca de aquellos que la aman. La moda es arte. Cada uno de estos diseñadores estudian no solo el contexto que porta la fabricación de un atuendo, ellos estudian la historia de la misma, se inspiran en la antigüedad como en los sucesos actuales. La moda es mucho mas compleja que combinar colores, es el entender colores. La moda es mucho mas compleja que ser atrevido, es saber cuando ser lo. La moda es muy relevante a los que nos rodea sin ignorar el impacto económico que tiene en el mundo. Muchos la critican y pocos saben que las grandes casas de modas son aquellas quienes mas protegen a sus empleados y evitan el abuso del trabajo infantil en la misma. Hay tanto que la gente no sabe sobre este mercado que mueve masas, influye sociedades y refleja tanto la historia del pasado como la que esta sucediendo.

Milano hizo un gran trabajo esta temporada… aquí en vivo les dejo mis desfiles Favoritos.

 

To understand Fashion we need to get out of our heads that it is frigid or plastic. Those who feel uncomfortable around it must stop and give it a chance to understand it. Fashion is art. Each and everyone of the designers I have mentioned not only study the context that it takes to make and outfit, they study the history of the same and get inspiration from the past as well as the current present. Fashion is a lot more than being daring and bold; it knows when to be.  Fashion is not about matching colors; it’s about understanding color. Fashion is extremely relevant to what’s happening around us, and one must not ignore its impact on the economy of the world. Many not know that the biggest fashion houses are those that protect their employee, meaning they disapprove of working underage kids in foreign countries. There is so much that people don’t know about this market that moves masses, that influences societies, and reflects history of the past as much as the present. Fashion is wonderful.

Milano did an amazing job this season. Here I leave you my favorite runway shows.

Como buena niña Italiana, para mi Italia es el mejor país del mundo y siempre busco formas de probar este argumento. Este caso (un repaso de Milano Fashion Week) se me hace sumamente fácil y no que menosprecie el talento de la Moda viniendo de New York o de Londres, para nada! Si bien leyeron mis post antiguos les rindo honor a estas ciudades y el impacto que tienen en la moda mundial, pero cuando viene a Milano hay un toque especial. Desde que Italia fue un imperio la moda se imponía en esta era estoica, hoy continua haciendo lo mismo. Lo que Milano ofreció para la primavera 2012 es abrumadoramente impactante. Cada diseñador, cada show, cada atuendo son piezas conjuntas de arte! Aunque insisto la tendencia sigue siendo: simplicidad, cortes rectos, secuencias brillantes (muy estilo años 20) y estampados coloridos y descombinados todo lo que se mostro en Milano porta cierta superioridad artística, en la estética del mismo! Esto es lo que hace el modismo Italiano un clásico de siempre y a su vez un líder rigente en la Modal Mundial! Aquí mis diseños favoritos.

Like the really good Italian girl that I am, every post I make about Italy, I will feature the country as the best country in the world! And this time around there’ll be no difference, especially when it comes to fashion. Not that I don’t appreciate New York or London’s fashion, on the contrary I praised both cities for the marvelous impact on the fashion world, but when it comes to Milan there is something different, something magical. Ever since Italy was an empire back in that stoic age fashion was a predominant concern. Now days still is, and what Milan has to offer for the spring of 2012 is overwhelmingly captivating and enchanting. Every designer, every fashion show, every outfit are pieces of art. As I insist the trend is simplicity meets straight cuts, meets sequence dresses (Gatsby year like), meets missed matching colorful prints, but what was shown in Milan carriers an artistic superiority in the esthetics of the same that has no comparison. This is what makes Italian fashion a timeless leader in the world of Fashion. Here my favorite designs! Enjoy

My Bosses Wedding

A medida que me envejezco, eso si con mucha gracia! Las bodas se vuelven eventos muy recurrentes en mi vida. La ultima que fui puede que sea una de las bodas mas simpáticas que he asistido! Mi Jefe Carlos y su ahora esposa Cynthia planearon una boda muy única! Las invitaciones de colores oscuros impresas en la cartulina mas suave y sedosas del mundo (dice llamarse Kimberly), con un logo que combinaba las primeras letras de ambos nombres lograban cautivar la atención del invitado haciéndole sentir que lo que se venia era una boda única. La Novia vestida de la modista preferida del jet set capitalino, Piera Ferrari lucio impecable, regia y elegante toda la noche a medida que disfrutaba de su fiesta. El vestido confeccionado en encajes y pedrería lucia hermosa en la esbelta ex Miss Venezuela. La salida de los novios en un mini-mercedes rodeados de fotógrafos de diversos medios y fans de la ex Miss fue muy similar a la salida de los Duques de Cambridge después de su recepción, sin embargo el acto fue simpático. La recepción en la Quinta la Esmeralda fue hermosa, decorada con abastecida de orquídeas el esplendor de la fiesta era minimalista, elegante y fresco. La torta muy clásica estaba rodeada de mini tortas y dulces todo en blanco que a su vez venían acompaños con una mesa adyacente cuya arquitectura estaba repleta de dulces en bandejas con diferentes elevación! Todo se vio muy elegante!

El tema de la boda la sencillez hace la elegancia y así fue.

Por mi parte lucí un vestido negro de ensueño de Alejandro Ramírez (@AR_ound). El atuendo de su atelier de alta costura fue hecho de raso tallado a mi cuerpo y al mismo le sobresalía una falda con una mini cola majestuosa. Un detalle de una rosa negra muy delicada decoraba el fajón de mi vestido que fue sencillamente un honor usar!

As I get old, but with lost of grace!  Weddings have become a recurrent event in my life. The last one I attended, might be one of the most amicable weddings I have being invited too. My boss Carlos married a former beauty queen from the Miss Venezuela pageant who now is a TV celebrity. The wedding they both planned was quite unique. The invitations were atypical to the traditional invite as they came on a dark but very soft and delicate cardboard (named Kimberly) with a logo combining both of their names in it. It actually had a captivating effect on the guest as the invite sent a vibe that something good was too come out of that party. The bride wore a dress from Caracas trendsetter designer Piera Ferrari that looked impeccable, elegant and mesmerizing on the bride. The dress was knitted with laces and crocheted with different brilliant rhinestones. When the bride and groom exited the church they left on a mini white convertible Mercedes Benz, kind of a similar exit to the one the Duque and Duchess of Cambridge had after their wedding reception, but very nice and relax nevertheless (despite all the fans and paparazzi). The reception took place at a prominent mansion at Caracas used for important events named La Quinta la Esmeralda. The place was decorated with an infinite supply of orchids giving it a fresh, minimalist but at the same time highly sophisticated look to the wedding. The cake all white was surrounded with little cakes and white desserts all very minimalist as well and adjacent had and sweets table where all the sweets were elevated at different heights creating a lovely and graceful structure.

The theme of these wedding was simplicity makes elegance!

On my part I wore a dreamy dress from Venezuelan renowned designer Alejandro Ramirez (@AR_Round) from his high-end couture atelier. The black dress was made of satin sewed to my body with an over skirt of the same material that had a little tail giving my dress a regal look! On the upper waist I had a costume rose made out of the same fabric that gave it an elegant touch without making it look too much. I was simply an honor to use such a dress!

Fashion-Charity HAND TO HAND

La diseñadora Londinense Vivienne Westwood presento su colección en Londres y fue magnifica! La autora del vestido en el cual Carrie Bradshaw es abandonada en el altar no decepciono con una colección simplemente hermosa. Fiel a su creencia y amor por la tierra, por lo básico su colección tiene un sentimiento muy natural. A su vez fiel a lo que la primavera del 2012 presentara la combinación de estampados con colores y tonalidades de diferente colores predomino la pasarela. La simplicidad rige esta colección y hasta sus trajes mas elaborados se ven frescos, naturales y simples. Lo mas hermoso de esta colección fue la carta presentada a sus invitados. La carta en Ingles la traduciré párrafo por párrafo. Es importante amar a la moda, es importante que la moda refleje la realidad del mundo y a su vez una visión un estilo. Pero lo mas importante es que la moda cree importancia para ayudar a las diferentes caridades que se esfuerzan en ayudar a diferentes personas. La moda no es frívola es un agente que debe transmitir un mensaje importante y Vivienne hace esto muy bien.

London base designer Vivienne Westwood presented her spring 2012 collection in London and it was mesmerizing. The author of the dress that Carrie Bradshaw wore as Mr. Big never showed up didn’t disappoint, the runway was plain beautiful. Faithfull to her personality Westwood’s love for earth and nature showed giving an earthy natural feeling to her clothes. At the same time, following what will be the trend for spring 2012 simplicity took a big role in the collection. Even her most elaborate outfits, her nightdresses, which are the epiphany of elegance, are simple. Also various vibrant colors were combined with different print and the missed matching vibe keeps on showing. Nevertheless what was the most beautiful was the letter Vivienne presented to her guest during her fashion show. The letter below along with pictures of her collection; I considered to be important to love fashion, to have fashion be a mirror of what the world is today. I think it’s important for fashion to translate a vision, a passion I believe its art. But what its most important in fashion is the awareness it can cause in others. To send the message that it’s not frivolous and that it’s important to believe in helping other. Vivienne does this quiet well!

Serendipity Loves London and Reviews its Fashion!

One of my favorite cities ever is London! In fact it is in my TOP 5 destinations that everyone should visit! The vibe this city offers is unique, its people are divine and its fashion has always set a trend mark. To an extent London’s fashion evaporates a late 60s mostly 70s fume. In fact during these decades London was the predominant force of fashion, it was the city that influenced and inspired all others. But as in life everything is cyclical, London lost its momentum and others cities gained it! Nevertheless a few years back Karl Lagerfeld presented some of his many collections in London to give the city back its fashion essence, and this along with the arising of what might be one of the greatest and most brilliant fashion designers ever, Alexander McQueen help bring back home (London) many designers such as Burberry and Vivienne Westwood who originated in this marvelous city. Also I think that Duchess Katherine Middleton wearing McQueen for her royal wedding gave London base designers a higher appreciation globally, all which is fairly presented during this London Spring 2012 Fashion Week! Here I leave you 26 beautiful designs from some fabulous designers!

London Fashion Week presents similitudes to what NYC fashion week presented for the upcoming season; simplicity even with the most electric fabrics of those filled with sequences was very present! Also the non-matching fabric patterns reigns’ diverse collection with vibrant colors. Yet something peculiar about LFW was the symmetry of the outfits. Most cut presented were straight lines with tons of symmetrical alignment in the elaboration of the outfits, yet with little burden therefore emphasizing on simplicity. Obviously all of them enjoy of a groovy vibe to them!

Una de mis ciudades favoritas, de hecho creo que está en mi TOP 5 favorite cities ever, es Londres. La vibra que esta ciudad ofrece es única, su gente es deliciosamente agradable y su moda siempre ha marcado pauta. A cierto modo en Londres siempre se respira una vibra que refleja la moda al final de los 60s, y duradera de los 70s. Durante estas épocas Londres fue el predominio de la moda mundial y fue la ciudad que llevo la batuta de la moda, pero como todo en esta vida es cíclico perdió momento a medida que otros grandes imperios de la moda surgían. Sin embargo hace algunos años, varios diseñadores incluyendo el legendario Karl Lagerfeld presento una de sus colecciones en la ciudad para que la misma reviviera su momento en moda y esto conjunto al surgimiento de lo que puede ser el diseñador mas brillante en las ultimas décadas Alexander McQueen, ayudo a que muchos diseñadores londinenses volviera a su ciudad de origen a presentar sus colecciones, Burberry, Vivienne WestWood los mas importantes. A su vez creo un fenómeno de diseñadores emergentes en el gremio de la moda que presentan colecciones deliciosas! El hecho que la Duquesa Catalina Middleton usara un vestido de novia hecho por McQueen para su majestuosa boda real ayudo a crear una apreciación global importante para los diseñadores londinenses lo cual se refleja en esta temporada. Para la próxima temporada Londres a similitud a lo que se presento en NYC Fashion Week, se ve la simplicidad hasta en las telas mas eléctricas o con mas secuencias. La descombinación de estampados y colores vibrantes rige una tendencia pero algo que Londres goza es la simetría de los atuendos. Bastantes cortes rectos, simétricos pero a su vez simples y poco cargados. Claro todo esto goza de una onda “groovy”!

Recapitular cada desfile de moda de New York Spring 2012 Fashion Week se torna en algo difícil por cosas del trabajo… Sin embargo fueron estudiados, analizados y hasta entendidos con profundidad analizando ciertos atuendos y familiarizándome con su historia. La tendencia que predomino fue la frescura, el look casual, el llevar un atuendo sin mucho esfuerzo… siempre existen excepciones a la regla (Prabal Gurung para mi este año, muy eléctrico con colores muy fuertes) pero en su mayoría todas las colecciones gozaban de esta tendencia. De esperarse los estampados y los colores vibrantes se impusieron sin embargo nada es recargado ni siquiera aquellos vestidos de brillantes o con secuencias de lentejuelas, todo lo que viene es muy simple… “la sencillez es elegancia” es el predominio del 2012 algo que me agrada.

Yo personalmente creo que la moda siempre es un reflejo de lo que esta ocurriendo la actualidad mundial y la practicidad, lo cómodo, la antítesis a la recarga se refleja en las ocurrencia políticas y sociales de hoy en día. El mundo busca comodidad y sencillez en su máxima expresión y desde dictadores revocados a la muerte de un terrorista nefasto creo o siento que globalmente no queremos mas complicaciones (este tema es otro y a mi parecer ese ideal inalcanzable pero es un sentimiento vivo hoy en día). Hasta la tecnología se esta volviendo mas amigable, menos aparatosas y en géneros musicales la frescura rige el gremio.

Going back to every single fashion show of NYC Spring 2012 it’s a bit difficult hence I am overloaded with work. Nevertheless shows were studied, analyzed and understood in deep; moreover I even try to familiarize myself with the history that every designer portrayed. The tendency that ruled the shows in its majority was the casual look, the effortless outfit… simplicity at its best! And even though there are always exceptions to the rule!  (This year Prabal Gurung a bit to overcharge and electrical) in their majority most collections shared this philosophy.

From prints to vibrant colors the “spring-ish stereotype” still was reflected but nothing was over the top in terms of accessories or even the fabrication of the ensemble. Even sequence dresses of shiny outfits carried that simplicity to them. The sentence “simplicity its elegance” it’s the epiphany of what’s to come!

Personally I think that fashion is a reflection of what is happening in the current world and being practical, comfort and less complicated mirrors the socio-political and economical recurrences of the actual current living. From overthrown dictatorships to the eradication of an evil terrorist, practical ways of living is the sentiment of today (this is another topic of debate and to my sense probably unreachable as a total). Moreover even technology is becoming more and more friendly, and some might say that even music genres are fresher.

Una de las colecciones que me cautivo y no solo por ser accesible al bolsillo pero por que es vibrante, divertida y femenina fue “la presentada por Staecy Bendet, Alice & Olivia. La diseñadora logra crear una fusión entre diferentes patrones de telas, colores y hasta texturas combinando lo incombinable. De por si toda la vida le he tenido fobia al concepto de combinar mis atuendos y al ver una colección como las siguiente me siento identificada. Lo que me hace mas feliz es que sus precios son bastante accesibles a diferencia de otras marcas y te sigue brindando el nivel de costura, tela y calidad que cualquier casa de moda importante ofrece.

Esta colección es hecha para las mujeres femeninas, vanidosas, activas y con cierta sensibilidad artística a la moda y a los colores.

Yo simplemente la ame!

 

One of the collections tat shook me from the core and also made me really happy because it is quiet accessible to my pocket was the one presented by Staecy Bendet’s Alice & Olivia. The designer accomplishes to match different prints, colors, textured in one feminine vibrant ensemble. All my life I have felt a little hesitant about being to matchie-matchie so seeing how fashion can be made the way this collection was is quiet gratifying. Also the fact that is accessible to buy makes me incredibly happy because this brand will offer you high quality and high end fashion for a fair price and it is still level up with other fashion houses in term of the product. This collection was made for feminine, vain and active ladies with an artsy sensibility to fashion and colors.

I simply loved it!

Un trio de robots pequeños japoneses van a participar en conjunto en el Triatlón de Hawái “Ironman race” el próximo mes para mostrar la fuerza interna de las baterías recargables de Panasonic!

El equipo de Panasonic va a usar un set de tres baterías recargables para que el mini robot nade las 2.4 millas, recorra en bicicleta las 112  miles y corra las 26.2 millas. El humanoide (robot) Evolta fue creado por Tomokata Takahshi.

Panasonic espera llegar a la línea final en una semana, o 168 horas, a medida que recarguen los set de baterías compartidos entre los tres humanoides la cantidad de veces necesaria.

El triatlón de Hawái es la serie mas reciente en varias campañas similares para mostrar el aguante y fuerza de las baterías EVOLTA.

Los humanoides han escalado el Gran Cañón, andado en bicicleta en la competencia de 24 horas Lemans y han caminado 500km de Tokio a Kioto en el Oeste de Japón.

El humanoide mide entre 23 y 25 cm (el que va a correr y andar en bicicleta), El que va a nadar mide 51 cm.

Una gran campaña publicitaria que mezcla el modismo del deporte con tecnología…

A trio of small Japanese robots will be working together in the Ironman triathlon race in Hawaii next month in order to show their inner strength on rechargeable batteries.

Panasonic will use one set of three rechargeable batteries for the whole 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and 26.2-mile run to power the humanoid “Evolta”.

Creator Tomotaka Takahashi made the little robots.

Panasonic hopes to reach the finish line in one week, or 168 hours, by recharging the set of batteries shared by the three robots as many times as necessary during the race.

The Hawaii triathlon is the most recent event in a series of similar endurance campaigns to show off the strength of the Evolta line of batteries.

In the past, Evolta robots have scaled the Grand Canyon; ride a tiny tricycle in the Le Mans 24-hour race, and walked 500 kilometers from Tokyo to Kyoto in western Japan.

The Ironman cycling and running robots are 23 and 25 high while the swimming one is 51 centimeters long.

A pretty cool way to mix a fashionable sports with a high-tech innovations! Love it!

Repaso NYC Spring 2012 FW ThaKoon

Thakoon quien en su colección pasada deslumbro las pasarelas usando combinaciones de la realeza rococó de Versaille mezclado con un toque de las tribu Masai de Kenia para su presentación de la primavera lo volvió a hacer esta vez mezclando un estilo muy de la India, muy Bollywood fabuloso con un toque del miedo oeste Americano. Aunque en conjunto puede sonar un poco extraño el trabajo de cada pieza en su particularidad es impecable. La súper vibrante colección tiene siluetas muy básicas como pantalones estilo gaucho vaqueros del oeste Americano a cortes mas elaborados como un salwar kameez hindú bordado. Usa telas de razo, saffron, y costuras brillantes aludiendo a colores naranjas y turquesa.  Desde los bordados, los cuellos, las faldas casuales cortas, como las faldas que se arrastran al piso es una colección fresca, colorida portando un estilo muy casual pero a su vez sin perder el encanto de la elaboración del mismo. Cada pieza es estudiada, trabajada y algunas bastante cargadas sin llegar a ser ostentosas o abrumadoras. Bollywood meets Western style, seems to be a continuation of Thakoon’s fall success of the epic mixed of Versailles rococo with Kenya’s Masai tribe. All though together all of these might appeared to be a bit too much (as described by Nicole Phelps Style.com) the cross-cultural exchange produces a super-vibrant collection of searing turquoise, saffron, orange, and gold, in silhouettes that ranged from yoked Western shirts to a lamé salwar kameez embroidered at the neckline. Aiming the kitsch, each of the pieces individually are a work of art that are wearable, fun and spring-ish adequate. Even though it can be a casual ready-to-wear collection at times, its elaboration is so delicate that it will never loose its elegance and at the same its fashion empowerment. Thakoon’s Avant-garde vision is deliriously perfect! And personally I think we would be seeing him as the fashion head Designer of an international fashion house soon!

Moss at 37th still looks flawless as she flaunts her incredible figure in the four-minute ad! Her face is the vivid representation of elegance and beauty when it comes to make up time. At the same time the commercial is so LDN, I mean I love the British vibe and everything from the music (from the Vaccines, highly recommended) to the styles in the outfits, the accents, the photography is so LEDGE.
